Tenneco is one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and marketers of automotive products for original equipment and aftermarket customers, delivering technology solutions for diversified global markets. They aimed to recruit top young talent by revitalizing their website to better represent their brand and implement a user-friendly content management system.
As a senior visual designer on the experience design team, I developed designs to present to the client, and further build out components and the design system in collaboration with the design, product, and development teams.
INITIAL CONCEPTS
When designing the initial visual designs, it was important to express the idea of a forward thinking company and feature simplicity and clarity of messaging. I added a subtle nod to the shape of the "T" in the Tenneco logo by incorporating a single rounded corner in both card shapes and buttons. And although the primary colours are deep and dark blues and greys, I used some of the secondary neon greens and blues to help call attention to CTAs and add vibrancy without overwhelming the overall look and feel.
FINAL DESIGNS
In final designs, the client sought to simplify the design further, with emphasis on more white space.
